THE HISTORY OF HUBBARD, OH est. 1795 In 1662, King Charles granted authority to the State of Connecticut allowing them to acquire three million acres of land. In an attempt to raise money for the schools in 1795, the State of Connecticut sold all of the land to the Connecticut Land Company.
